Judge McLean graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned her law degree at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She worked as a Deputy District Attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial District. She then became a County Court Magistrate in the same district, where she presided over specialty courts.
She was later appointed a District Court Judge. Today she is the Presiding Judge for the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Dockets and the Problem-Solving Courts.
