Judge Shamsid-Deen earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and his law degree from the University of Denver. From 2009 to 2012 he was a compliance investigator with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies' Civil Rights Division. Before his appointment he also served as a senior deputy district attorney in Denver, where he prosecuted organized crime, embezzlement and adult felony cases.
He was appointed to the Denver County Court in June 2023.
