Judge Edson earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration from Colorado State University, a law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2002, and a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Colorado Denver in 2012. He worked for the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office as a Deputy District Attorney, a Senior Deputy District Attorney and a Chief Deputy District Attorney. He also served as a magistrate in the 18th Judicial District.
