Judge Curtis earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2000, and her law degree at the University of Colorado. She was a deputy state public defender in Colorado Springs, an attorney in the Office of the Guardian Ad Litem, and a partner in a law firm. She then served as a magistrate in the 4th Judicial District from 2011 to 2017.
She was a County Court judge for El Paso County from 2017 and moved up to the District Court in July 2019. Her docket is half criminal and half juvenile cases.
