Judge Porter earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in 2005 and his law degree from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2008. He began his legal career as a deputy district attorney in the 15th Judicial District.
He was appointed to the Prowers County Court bench in June 2016. He presides over misdemeanor, traffic and civil cases in Prowers County.
