Judge Stricklin earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan in 2003 and her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007. She was a Deputy State Public Defender in the Greeley Regional Office from 2007 to 2010 and a Senior Deputy State Public Defender in the Arapahoe Regional Office from 2010 to 2015. After several months in private practice handling criminal defense and family law cases, she became an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Districts of Colorado and Wyoming in November 2015.
She was appointed to the District Court bench in December 2023.
