Before joining the bench, Judge Fowler was in private practice. He focused on civil litigation with a small firm in Denver, later opened his own family law practice in La Junta, and then moved to Trinidad, where he continued his private practice.
He was appointed to the District Court on January 9, 2023. He presides over civil, criminal, domestic relations and juvenile cases in the Third Judicial District, with most of his cases coming from Las Animas County and the rest from Huerfano County.
