Before joining the bench, Judge Loewer practiced criminal law for thirteen years as a deputy state public defender.
He was appointed to the District Court in August 2023. He serves as a District Court Judge in the First Judicial District and presides over a mixed docket of domestic relations, civil and criminal cases. He is also the district court judge for the 1st Judicial District Fresh Start Program.
