Judge O'Shea is a Colorado native. He studied at Colorado College, worked for an international company for ten years, and then earned his law degree at DePaul University College of Law. He was a solo practitioner and an attorney in the Cook County, Illinois, Public Defender's office. From 2013 until he became a judge, he practiced in Pueblo.
He was appointed to the District Court for the Tenth Judicial District in 2021. He hears mental health cases and probate cases, and part of the civil docket.
