Judge Alexander earned his undergraduate degree at Columbia College in 1986 and his law degree at the University of Denver College of Law in 1990. From 1990 to 1994 he worked as a Public Defender. In 1994 he became a Magistrate in Pueblo County, and in 2002 he became the Municipal Judge for the City of Pueblo.

Governor John Hickenlooper appointed him a District Court Judge in Pueblo in 2012. He presides over all of the dependency and neglect docket and part of the criminal docket.

  My niece was wrongfully put into adoption and we tried getting her back. I took it to court twice and judge Alexander did NOT let anyone speak. He made a decision of keeping her in the home when we had witnesses to the abuse and files of complaints from other parents who had their child in their care.

  A two-year-old with special needs may be sent to Mexico to live with a grandmother the child has never met. The mother has regular visits, and the incarcerated father has weekly video calls; his federal case involves a cartel. CPS and attorneys reportedly said it was too dangerous to travel to Mexico to investigate the placement. Judge Alexander is up for retention in November and was not recommended by the judicial commission. The case review is set for November 9.
